Since 2009, the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter has spawned hundreds of video game projects. The "Kickstarter Discovery" columns will highlight video game and/or board game projects that are currently seeking funding on the platform. This week, the video game TimeMelters !

Goal: $30,000

End of funding request: October 9, 2021

"The story is set in the mythical land of Hogendale, loosely based on the witch trials that took place in Scotland in the 16th century, but we've created our own fantasy time bubble in the story. When the game begins, the Hogendale area has been almost completely burned to ashes. The villagers have been transformed into corrupted, soulless beings controlled by the Dark Puppeteer… and all is already lost! »

In this strategy game, you play as Teagan, a witch trying to master her new powers. The object of the game will be to save Hogendale from the terrible Dark Puppeteer using time travel. But be careful, Teagan will only have one life point to complete your task, so if an enemy manages to catch you, you will die immediately!

To help you defend yourself, it will be possible to create Time Echoes. These echoes will reproduce the actions you have done previously. You therefore have the choice of helping your echoes to repel enemies or using them as a distraction in order to set a trap for enemies.

Another of Teagan's powers is Soul Sight, which allows you to wander in astral form through a level undetected. It will allow you to cast spells, plan strategies, or provide additional support to allies and Echoes, while reducing the risk of causing time distortions.

TimeMelters is scheduled for April 2022 on PC (Steam). A demo is already available. The game will be playable solo or cooperatively, via the Friend Invite system on Steam. The music will be composed by Michel F. April, who was nominated at the 2016 Canadian Video Games Awards for his work on the game Dead By Deadlight .

TimeMelters is the very first game to be developed by AutoExec Games, based in Varennes, on the South Shore of Montreal. The studio was co-founded by Vincent Blanchard, an Artifice Studio alumnus and the co-creator of the game Sang-Froid – A Werewolf Tale .

The studio specifies that TimeMelters has been in development for three years now and that 85% of the single-player campaign is complete while multiplayer is still in development. The funds raised during this Kickstarter will be used to add new features such as a new challenge mode .
